The Academy Trust has established a local governing body for Coombe Boys’ School under the terms of the Trust’s articles of association.
Each academy within the Trust is accountable to and must serve its community. The Governing Body of Coombe Boys’ School is charged with delivering these aims.
Whilst the Board of Trustees has overall responsibility and ultimate decision-making authority for all the work of the Trust, and for the standards achieved by pupils and students of the academy, the Governing Body has the responsibility of ensuring that the vision of the Trust is fulfilled.
The Governing Body is focused on translating the strategy of the Trust into day-to-day reality in the school for which it has responsibility, ensuring that the staff working in the academy are supported and challenged and that the needs of the pupils and students are met.
To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction; hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and the performance management of staff; and oversee the financial performance of the school making sure its money is well spent.
